You...,

by Meena Krish   Jun 18, 2014

And I...

I cannot pass a moment
or pick my heart out from its thorns
when your silence fills my life,

Each time you mention my name
my world springs with zest, that it mourns
when your silence fills my life;

and I...

I cannot imagine the years spent,
a heart full of dreams shared with you
tattered and torn

because to me...

to me your love came
stood through my storms and never flew
sowing a flame in my life.

    To me your love came
stood through my storms and never flew
sowing a flame in my life.

I think you need to edit this part a little:

    your love came AND stood.

then put a comma after flew.

This was a really beautiful touching poem.

I like how you have the title as just YOU but then the poem itself is actually about two people, which you show with your repetition of "and I", this worked really well.

Very sweet little poem. Well done

Really missed reading poems like this, so much has been said without saying anything at all. So much to read between lines. Simply amazing.

Meena, this poem is very creative in how you worked the title into the poem and continued it throughout the stanzas. Your emotion was quite evident throughout this piece and it had a deeper meaning that reveals more passion than what can be gleaned from a simple glance. Either way I thought the poem was very smooth and flowed quite nicely. Your imagery was also really good to and gave me multiple pictures as I read through your stanza's.

    "because to me...

    to me your love came
stood through my storms and never flew
sowing a flame in my life. "

This was my favorite stanza and by far the best stanza in the poem, giving the poem a great ending. In this stanza I am really able to feel just how much this person has impacted you and how you truly feel about them. It's often hard to find someone who will always be there for us, loving us unconditionally no matter what.

All in all, great write and I can't wait to read some more. I have been gone for so long and I have so much to catch up on. I hope you continue writing and giving me more pieces to read and enjoy. Great job and keep writing!
