Drowning (family friend committed suicide)

by Burning Angel   Jul 22, 2014

Thoughts envelope me; unable to escape.
Why can't I wake
From this nightmare?
I swear; you're everywhere.

Sorrow burrows itself in the contours of my torn miserable heart.
I just dont understand why you decided to depart.
Confusion is written in the wrinkles of every soul that loved you dearly.
You should have seen it; I see it so clearly.

Now, it's all anger; hot tears of rage.
It's so terribly hard to act my age.
Temper tantrums that cause lashing out at innocent souls.
Unable to truly understand a reason we will never know.

Suicides are such wasteful and terrible things, and your poem very well illustrates the truma that is felt by those left behind.
