I miss calling your name

by Meena Krish   Jul 24, 2014

There is not a single word
in the dictionary that can
show the weight of my pain,
nor express how much
I miss calling out your name;

Days have turned to months
and the wound is still fresh,
it feels like just yesterday
my world got crushed;

Salty river I bury
into the pillow,
realizing you are no more
to embrace my sorrow;

Behind each laugh sits
the weight of my pain
and as the weeks roll by...
I miss calling out your name....

...your name

    I agree that you have beautifully expressed your thoughts/ an absence within this piece. It really is well done. I really like the way your own voice came out so clearly in this piece without pulling from the emotion or story. Great job with that. I also really liked your third stanza, I'm not entirely sure why, but it really stands out to me.

    5/5.Meena you have so beautifully expressed the pain for the one who is no longer in your life.

    show the weight of my pain
    nor express how much
    I miss calling out your name

    The flow is excellent

    Days have turned to months
    and the wound is still fresh,

    Simile of tears

    Salty river I bury
    into the pillow

    It might seem to the world that you have overcome the grief

    Behind each laugh sits
    the weight of my pain

    Excellent write!!!
