Mother's Birthday

by Michael D Nalley   Aug 13, 2014

I can't remember my first with her
but I once perceived one as my last
certainly I mean the way we were
not that far back in the distant past
It was cold outside but we kept warm
right around the end of December
even when power went out in the storm
Cooked on kerosene I remember
In meditation conceived in such mirth
I've come to understand eternal birth
