The other Half of me

by Steven   Aug 14, 2014

It's just another one of those days
where I sit by my widow side
watching the pouring rain outside
it only reminds me
how lonely it feels whenever you're away

It's not the song that is playing behind me
or even the fallen leaves that hit the floor below me
it's just not the same without you here
when I'm staring and forgetting
how things use to be

before it was just me
the lonely me
waking up each morning
staring at the empty streets
walking alone without anyone beside me
this was my life before "me"

only until destiny caught me
when i realized how things changed so quickly
it wasn't just a single cup of coffee
but two sugars besides me
no longer was it just a single movie
but two tickets for this beautiful scene
Nobody ever told me
i was missing "me"
this empty feeling in me
was left to be filled by someone like "me"

it's only now i understand
when our hands our lock tight together
and our eyes meet with desire
that my heart burns with such warmness
my face grows a smile so slowly
that i discover "you're my other half"
the one that has always been missing

I could say many things
but only time I'll ever say it would be now
I stare outside my widow and watch you staring up at me
i whisper to myself these feelings
those words i thought i would never say again
"I love you"
You're my other half that I have been searching
Please remember
I'll never leave
I'll always be waiting here
watching out this lonely widow
with nothing but my shadow beside me
I'll love you
the other half of "me"
