False Lullabies

by Jenni Marie   Aug 18, 2014

Wanted me on my knees
praying for forgiveness,
tastebuds clenching in
anticipation with an entire
body waiting to devour
you completely.

Preying on weaknesses-
almost fooled me but I
don't need you. Never have
and never will and you wont
fool me into false promises
and lullabies-

you wont have me hunched,
begging; pleading forgiveness,
with mascara stained cheeks,
hollow eyes, despair sucking my
soul right out from under me.

No-you wont win.
I am stronger.
