One By One

by Flesh Traitor   Sep 19, 2014

It seeems like I am expecting
for these clouds to fade away
it seems as if I'm hoping
to die someday soon

One by one, we all became numb
we are the victims in society's useless eyes
I won't see the sun again
pounding on the walls, bloody fists throbbing

Something is wrong with this world
it's obvious that we are struggling
there is no way out, an endless labyrinth
One by one, we fight ourselves to see another day

My fellow citizens are failing
sliding down the wall
only to stare into the vast pit of darkness we all know
pulling the skin from their bones

The silence keeps it somewhat easy
It keeps us safe for the moment
all I have is the memory of what we were
seeping through the cracks in my head

One by one we line our precious wall
clawing at the cement that keeps us in
our legs give out, bodies fail
my fellow citizens falling to the ground.

Nothing I can do will change this
so now it is my time
bury me down beneath the gravel
and let my spirit die with the shame
