Dissecting a picture (sestina)

by Masked metaphor   Sep 22, 2014

Photography is my artwork in which life is captured.
Rays of light ignite, travelling through a clearing aperture.
Blurriness diminishes as the image gains optic focus.
Life's purpose comes into place through the lens,
as darkness becomes light,
pulsating through the exposing shutter.

Flashing synchronization enhanced by the shutter,
Brings a glossy touch to times stillness captured.
Existence was first formed through light,
instilling sharpened images by the narrowed aperture.
Images pixelated through the lens,
pinpoint precision under microscopic focus.

The world surroundings me through focus,
by which my techniques filter in as a shutter.
If only my eyes can seize images like a camera lens,
All the beauties of life can be captured.
The camera takes me to dynamic planes with its aperture,
colliding rays of natural and synthetic light.

Dissecting a picture through a dark room light,
images form with revealing focus.
The human eye acts as an aperture,
blinking in formations through a Shutter.
Art works are displayed and captured,
through an inspired artistic lens.

My art allows people to see through my unique lens
to embrace the light
and the ambiance captured.
To zoom in and focus,
to hear the mechanical Shutter.
And to envision the optical systems of aperture

Colors vortex into a widening aperture,
using differing size Lens,
and a longer speed shutter,
to prison the sunset light.
Bringing darkening silhouettes into focus...
I patiently wait for perfection to be captured.

Art is structured through aperture and light
Molded through a lens to bring a key focus
Canvased through loves shutter, framed and captured.

Life's purpose comes into place through the lens,
    as darkness becomes light,

Incredible description and striking insight into the world of photography. This first stanza entertained my mind for quite a bit of time, it reminded me of when I took a photography class and the kind of traits you learn when first shooting a photo, the detail poured out here was really easy to imagine and grasp, mainly if you are into photography.

Flashing synchronization enhanced by the shutter,
Brings a glossy touch to times stillness captured.
Existence was first formed through light,
instilling sharpened images by the narrowed aperture.
    Images pixelated through the lens,
    pinpoint precision under microscopic focus.

Wow! So surreal in your words which you have decided to use here. I love this stanza as it not only explains the focus of taking a picture but the beauty of life and how much so many things rely on the light. The light helped bring existence as much as it helps pictures become reality, it helps to capture a moment of time with the microscopic focus! Explained amazingly.

"If only my eyes can seize images like a camera lens"
That sentence is so amazing, so true, and lovely. It took my breath away, gave me an insight into life and how amazing it would be to be able to capture memories with our eyes like a camera does, how we would be able to relive the precious moments of our life's if we would be allowed to capture them with just a blink of an eye. Love it.

The process you go through in this stanza is a must! You put us in the dark room developing a picture and the process it goes through, loved the revealing focus part. Gives the stanza a lot of life and allows the reader to imagine a picture within their head.

This stanza is the strongest one for me. Your art allowed people to see through your unique lens. Like the pictures you take and the poetry you write allows us to see life the way you view it and boy what an exquisite view of life it is. Wonderful stanza with a metaphorical insight that draws deep into your soul, if the reader can understand what you're getting to in this stanza they can see how beautiful your artwork is.

Patience is the way of photography for sure! You captured it here, waiting for the sunset light to his just right so you can get that silhouette. Love the wording of the colors vortex, I can imagine all the colors of the sunset blending together within the sky.

Art is structured through aperture and light
Molded through a lens to bring a key focus
Canvased through loves shutter, framed and captured.

You bring it all together in this last stanza, what art of photography is. What is brings to the world and how to put the camera to use.

    Interesting and deep write.
