Poetry Isn't My Strongest Outlet

by MikaMad15   Oct 21, 2014

Teary eyes speak lost words,
I ask you to just hold me,
for a while, maybe?
I need to let it ease off.
The pain aches,
My heart breaks

Predictable.
Cough cough up your lungs
Cause they call me crazy, unwired.
A mess, a f**k up.
I'm nothing much special
but I'll pretend I am just I'll get you to know me
and that's not a mistake or a lie.
I need something, need a flame in my life.
Tic tock.
I wait,
I wait until the day I stop and I can't anymore.

The world will keep spinning anyway
Life, death. What is really the inbetween?
Deep down, all I need is a hand to hold.
A home to call my own.
I don't care if you spit me out at the end.
At least my inbetween would have been something
Instead of just being life and death in vain.

I felt like the first stanza was a great hook. I also love the way this whole piece seems to roll off the tongue. The sort of random use of rhyme really adds to this effect. Great job! 5/5
