Q & Q

by Maher   Nov 7, 2014

What if the world were to wither away,
whaling at the sight of the moon?
With or without your consent, to this day,
would the beaches continue to swoon?

What if the stars were to be re-arranged,
could we still be misguided at all?
Or if the clouds were to swell, day after day,
without the chances of rain or a storm?

What if the earth were to keep tucked away
It's diamonds and jewels and gold?
Were the sea to crush every pearl due to strain,
would we label it cheap and/or old?

What if all fires were as soothing as rain,
would the greens of this world fall to ash?
What would we use to grow things again,
if our water was rendered to gas?

And what of the ones who pitch up their homes,
or the ones who have none at all?
Would the world turn away, by consent that you gave,
to rain fire on cheap, moon-lit souls?

Wow, an amazing piece here! You had a lot of 'what ifs'. Many of us wonder them sometimes, but never will we seem to find out. I loved how you talked about nature the way you did, made it make us look at the bigger picture in life. Job well done! =]
