Widening the Roses

by BlueJay   Nov 22, 2014

Do the dead love?

Is the last kiss
of delight really so
cold to blind,
leave, then save
us all over again.

Do the dead love?

Writing all their secrets down
as tombstones crumble
on top of them yet again.

Darling, do tell me,

do the dead love?

I love your title but I guess I don't see how it fits... is it an expression of some sort? I'd really like to know the meaning behind why you chose it.

This idea is truly intriguing and very unique! I love it so much, would you mind if I used this topic someday? I don't want you to feel like I'm 'stealing your ideas'.. although my poem would be completely different from yours... I figured I would ask as I don't want to make anyone mad. :) If not, completely understand.

    "Writing all their secrets down
    as tombstones crumble
on to p of them yet again."

^ My favorite stanza although a slight typo.. needs to be top.

Great work, definitely an interesting question.

Hannah, of course you may write your own, I can't stop you and i am curious to see what you would come up with! thank you for reading. and I compare roses to the heart, its a phrase my friends and I share... it seemed to fit in a more personal way than a universal. Thank you for pointing out my typo though, I'm off to fix it now.
