Secrets Kept

by Baby Rainbow   Dec 12, 2014

Secrets kept
inside your past,
will always show up
in your future.

You can run away
as fast as you can
and as far as your legs
will take you.

But the past is your shadow
with secrets it won't swallow,

secrets kept
inside your past,
until one of your
tomorrows!

    This is so true.

Secrets never stay hidden. They stay in the dark and just wait to pounce upon us.

My favorite line here is this:
"But the past is your shadow
with secrets it won't swallow, "
** this line is so true. The past won't swallow our secrets. It just won't keep our secrets with itself.

The past is like one of those girl's who can't keep anything to itself and blurt out everything at the wrong time.Actually whenever the past blurts out the secrets it becomes the wrong time.

Time although in the past never has a grave so it just cannot die.We are to always live with the fear of our secrets being unmasked. An extremely deadly fear.

Your poem just reminded of the song "secrets" by pierces. It's got good lyrics.

Well, I loved this poem and this definitely goes in my favorite list.I always love your poems saff( hope you don't mind me caling you). They always have a really different, i don't know how to explain. I just love them.

Talking about secrets. Mine after 50 years has been lifted. I kept it buried deep down inside but the truth is I think I knew all along. We just have to find a way how to cope and let it go.

True, I can sure attest to that in my life! I like how contemplative yet simple this is... almost holds an impending tone but not necessarily that your past has to bind you and drag you behind. Maybe just acknowledging your past, letting the secrets free, will help in everyday life.
