True Accolades

by Gary R Priester   Dec 15, 2014

Upon life's stage
I penned my heart
For all the world to see
My songs of love
My fear of death
What life has taught to me
I waited for the accolades
I never did receive
So I put away my pen
And kept my heart to me
And then a friend
Read my heart
To a relative in need
It helped his passing
From life to death
Is what she said to me
That's when I knew
That I must write
Despite what I receive
So once again
My heart pens out
For all the world to read

So does mine, though my heart pens different than other people. I guess in a way, it's a good thing. Enjoy the read.
