Marriage

by Pratap Rudra   Dec 27, 2014

There was no way to know what is in hold
Till one day you could say you need to be bold.
Life's callings are mysteries my friend
After marriage your philosophies end.

Be prepared to go the distance, as the journey unfold
You may manage her here, but not the next fold
There will be surprises that your strategies are old,
Call this a game, and be rest assured.

Destinies are twined for the lucky and few
The ones whose journey could complete it through!

Some golden rules are always so true
You can-not have the cake and eat it too.
Be patient my friend, it's your life too.
Once married, we call it two.

Hi this is an elegantly written piece and I feel you speak from experience.

There was no way to know what is in hold
Till one day you could say you need to be bold.
Life's callings are mysteries my friend
    After marriage your philosophies end.
    ^^
This opening stanza is a beautiful one and the last 2 lines are very true I believe because once you have found your true love everything changes. Sometimes is for the better and others for the worse, either way 'Philosophies' we once had will disappear and well get new ones as a pair.

Be prepared to go the distance, as the journey unfold
You may manage her here, but not the next fold
There will be surprises that your strategies are old,
Call this a game, and be rest assured.
    ^^
Here i feel you're making the jump for your special journey ahead and hopefully it will last forever but not always the case unfortunately.

Destinies are twined for the lucky and few
The ones whose journey could complete it through!
    ^^
This is a very powerful couplet and is true if we take the journey together and finish it over then it'll be bliss. Yes there are times that will test relationships but staying together through those times shows how strong you are instead of leaving at the first hurdle.

Some golden rules are always so true
You can-not have the cake and eat it too.
Be patient my friend, it's your life too.
Once married, we call it two.
    ^^
A beautiful finishing stanza. You can't have your cake and eat it too but wouldn't t be nice lol

All in all a good write.

    So True !!!!
This speaks in depth of a relationship.

"Life's callings are mysteries my friend"

"There will be surprises that your strategies are old"

There are no hard and fast rules in this journey.

Patience is to be practiced the most .........to work it in harmony ......

    "Once married,we call it two"

    Very well ended .

    Keep penning:)

Ohhhh..how sweet and so very true!! You have penned this with elegance and much experience too!
Life's callings are mysteries by friend

^^In this line did yo mean "my friend"...?

    After marriage your philosophies end.

^^We seem to have many theories and philosophies before marriage but they all seem to disappear or not at all apply once you are married!

Be prepared to go the distance, as the journey unfold
You may manage her here, but not the next fold
There will be surprises that your strategies are old,
Call this a game, and be rest assured.

^^I like this stanza and its true too. Once you are in this you are in it for lifelong and must be prepared too. It takes a life time to know and understand one's life partner-that is the message here.

Some golden rules are always so true
You can-not have the cake and eat it too.

^^Hmmm and sometimes its nice to have the cake and eat it too! I guess it depends on how a couple works it out. Its a give and take policy and not a one way road.

Be patient my friend, it's your life too.
Once married, we call it two.

^^Nice ending. Patience is what is needed to learn, understand and know; and everything we do is for two. Well penned and welcome to P&Q :)
