Always Only An Affair

by C Cattaway   Dec 28, 2014

Don't make me promises you can't keep.
Don't share your dreams if you aren't willing to follow them.
Don't say you'll fight for me if you have no intention.
Don't invite me in if I'm not likely to be welcome.
Don't let me hope, if you cannot fulfil it.
Don't let me trust you if it's easily broken.
Don't let me share my life, if you won't share yours.
Don't let the day pass when I'm already woken.
Don't say I'm special, then treat me as ordinary.
Don't open the can of worms unless you'll defend me.
Don't lie to my face, then lie elsewhere behind me.
Don't smile back at me if you can't be friendly.
Don't pretend you wanted a future with me.
Don't chase or push me just to catch me then run.
Don't ever treat anyone else like you treated me.
I've never felt more cheap, than when I thought I was YOUR one.
