It's Cold Outside But There Is Warmth In The Oven

by Glenn G   Jan 3, 2015

It's cold outside and yet I feel a warmth
Why is the cold North wind not chilling me right to the bone
The answer becomes clear with the ringing of the phone
It can only be because although I am away
I know that you are home
Soon my trip will come to an end
And I will feel your arms as they hold my lonely soul
All things wrong with a man who has been away to long
Will become right until the next time I am gone

As I go away and do what I have to do
The only one who would wait for me
Is someone as wonderful as you
Love at it's best, its innocent and sincere
Brings me home each time to the place I belong
Because I know you will always be there.

Once home and holding you in my embrace
A tear starts from your eyes and runs slowly down your face
You pull away just enough to tell me I'm going to be a dad
I embrace you tight and ask you not to look so sad
Some say two's company and three is a crowd
But with you bearing my child I couldn't be more proud.
