We Crave the Unknown

by Jaymi Lynn   Jan 4, 2015

A touch of fantasy is all one needs
to become addicted to the unattainable;
so insatiable we are.
Savages since the dawns of time
but beautiful in our ways, nonetheless,
despite the restlessness we feel inside.
Possession is in the hands of the possessor
and that grasp is always tight, appetite forever bold.
Yet we are what we are.
Lovely in the light
because that's all fantasy is
and that's all we'll ever want:
Another taste, another touch to sweeten the fall;
to want what we can't have or nothing at all.
