Hysteria (Kyrielle)

by Maple Tree   Jan 27, 2015

Tales of a darkened night told
temptress, the poet, quarrels scold
lanterns burning dark depression
eyes bury tearful confessions.

Madman scribbles lustful drama
diva prays for lovers karma
smoking guns, twisted obsession
eyes bury tearful confessions.

He mourns her death ahead of time
swallowing blades within each rhyme
tongues spewing blackened aggression
eyes bury tearful confessions.

The repetition of the last line in every stanza is so powerful, it adds to the theme of sadness in the poem. Its heartbreaking but also haunting at the same time.

Your words leave me wondering all the time...
