Just Like the Sun

by Sunshine   Jan 27, 2015

I'm not little,
and I'm not pride.

I'm just a sniffle
in the heart,
a whine in the soul.

I will sigh like a ghost,
wordlessly swallow
all the sham.

I will smile like I believe,
I will shine and glisten
as I blaze a little more;
just like the sun-

a sun,
burning to the core.

The idea of a ghost sighing, that kind of makes me sad. It's creative though and you personify that well along with the sun. It makes me think we admire the sun for its heat, yet also curse it for blazing too much. I like how in this instance, you say you will continue, try to survive, when in reality you're suffering and it seems not many can see past your facade.

    Such depth in this piece!

I adore this piece on so many levels.

The message of smiling and blazing like the sun within darkness is so very captivating within this small poem... Its you, so very you! Just a beautiful poem here Nana!

I love it when you use the sun as a metaphor, no one uses it as well as you do. Even if its a sad situation you are in you still shine with your words.

    Loved it <3
