Wicked

by Matt Carroll   Feb 1, 2015

A piece of mine from back in 2008 that was lost until now.

So deep inside the darkness writhes
The time is nigh to pay thine tithes
For those of which you may despise
Forevermore will drown in lies

Of souls awander, pursuing truth
Must first pay hence the black toll booth
For none shall pass the arches of hell
Before succumbing to this spell

No earthly pleasure could slate the lust
Of those who now forsake your trust
Food and drink turned ash on tongue
As bells of crying Angels sung

A scream not heard, a kiss not tasted
A heart unmended, a chance just wasted
A love unnoticed, left untouched
For some may seem just quite too much
