The Dream (Club challenge)

by Sunshine   Feb 7, 2015

As I surrender to the chains
weighing down my eyelids,
a child awakens inside of me
running from chamber to chamber;
taking one step toward the door
she falls few meters in the dark
toward the raven waters,
she hits no surface,
she hits no ground;
floating in a mirage
of black and blue clouds;
she doesn't wake up;

I wake up.

    Rania, this is another wonderful piece. The language and imagery created throughout this poem is stunning. "Floating in the mirage of black and blue clouds" - this flows and rolls off the tongue beautifully.
    And then the end. "...she doesn't wake up I wake up" - wonderful.
    All the best,
    Ben

    I'm not even sure what to say about this. I've read it over quite a few times and I'm just speechless.
