Sewn Up Excuses

by LTFR Club   Feb 7, 2015

The pocket full of excuses,
I'm afraid, is now tattered-
No more believing your
relentless white lies.

Sewn up with a single
inch of thread,
are the wrongs of a
wordless life you have
attempted to imprint
mine with...
Oh, how foolish of you -

But...

you have misjudged me
as there are no tears
'pon the skin,
you have wronged me
for the last time -
I will not succumb to you,
again.

I'll rise, like a skyscraper
caving in through the skies,
that are cloudless with
a burning sun
warming an ice cold heart.

Yes, I will strive to revive,
and I'll eventually thrive;
I'll stand with no demand
and maybe then you'll understand...

Even if you remain fog bound
know that I hear a new sound,

and while this might be
a blessing in disguise,
I found peace at last
while saying my goodbyes...

to a pocket full of
lies.
