Proud

by Beautiful Tragedy   Mar 10, 2015

I am proud of you.
When we first met, you weren't sure if you could trust me.
I have watched the stuggle on your face.
I have watched as you tore yourself down and I have built you back up.
I have watched as you were uncertain about what you wanted,
As you lost sleep over things and tried not to cry.
But you did it.
You let me in, despite the insecurities and hurt and trust issues.
You have let me in even though it has been hard.
Nothing is easy, and we both fought for what we wanted.
Love swells in my chest.
It is an honor to have someone like you love me.
I look at you and smile.
You're not looking at me, you are busy doing somethng else,
But I still watch as you smoothly make your way across the room.
The thought of ever losing you takes my breath away and crushes my heart.
I can't lose you.
We need each other.
You are my support, I am yours.
If one falls completely so does the other.
I smile at the ground and look back up at you.
You are so beautiful.
I am so in love with you.
You meet my eyes and smile at me,
My heart skips a beat and a half.
I am so proud of you.
We both accomplished what we thought was impossible:
Trusting someone.
It's a risk, and yet,
Here we stand,
Raw and Exposed,
Masks taken off,
Scared and unsure of ourselves.
But we still hold on to what we have:
Each other.
And in our moments,
That is all that matters.
Because there is only us.
And that's how it should be.
I am so proud of you.
