Deft Wings.

by Poet on the Piano   May 18, 2015

Don't tip me over -
I am your feather,
delicately loving
you between
crooks and spines
that the uncivil
souls have been
trying to bend.

We can mend
the waves of the
oceans, the heartache
of the sailors who
tossed their songs
into the depths.

Though wars
crucified us, our
skin discolored and
bones frail, we will
swim for our wings,
for the flight

we know we can
summon.

Another powerful write! Lovely imagery and strong powerful messages inside. Great wording and good title choice with this piece too.
