Life's game

by Sarah Day   Jun 9, 2015

People mere possessions, friendships-folly, fake
don't know how much more of this bullshit I can take.
Relationships built on nothing, just a way to pass the time
mean nothing ever and in the end that's precisely what you'll find.
Love professed till dying day, tossed aside, just thrown away.
Vows to God and promises spoke
lay in piles all forgotten and carelessly broke
People live for the moment wanting all that's good
don't know what the long haul means or what faithful true love should
It's all about the here and now
selfish games and not caring how
As long as they stay ahead with whatever it is they choose,
they win this messed up game and the rest of us, well, we lose.
