BEAUTIFUL BLUE BUTTERFLY

by Gayle McMillan   Aug 1, 2015

You cannot take on the world
Beneath the weight of burdens
Your wings are flightless, furled
Fly away, far away
Far from human pain
Soar up to God`s radiant sky
Beneath His mercy rain
God never meant for you
To bear sorrow upon your wings
But add beauty to the world
Such as when a sparrow sings
Flit and play, be happy
Learn to be carefree
God displays His glory
When you`re being what you were meant to be
Flitting around from place to place
Shimmering in hues of blue
Arrayed in God`s beauty
Doing what butterflies do
And sorrow slips into the night
A new day I see
Looking out my window
A beautiful blue butterfly
Dances for me
