The Letter

THE LETTER

I received a letter today;
who sent it I cannot say.
Anyone else as I would
wonder about it the same
way.
The words to me that were
written were from someone
who was deeply smitten.
Who was this who's heart
I had won?
My thoughts did wander;
was it my wife, daughter
or son?
They wrote about the *Song
they composed, in it so
much love was disclosed.
I was spoken of as beautiful
and one to be desired, precious,
and admired.
In their song they longed for
my kiss, the words contained
so much bliss.
Their heart had melted into
a work of Art, pure gold
that no one could have smelted.
Then I realized it was the Lord
expressing through his love letter
to me, it is the Bible you see!

*This is the best Song Solomon wrote out of his thousands and is found in the Old Testament. The Song is pretty racy in parts but Solomon relates to a beautiful young woman to express his love of God. This Song is about Solomon's Redeemer and their love for each other, Solomon is type cast as the beautiful dark skinned woman so in love with this special man.

As a Christian I believe that man is Jesus Christ.
All night long on my bed I looked for the one my heart loves; I looked for him but did not find him. Song Of Solomon 3:1 NIV

He looked for HIM! This is also my Song, come Lord Jesus!

    Thank you sister! I hope you were able to read my poem; Reign in my heart, it is based on a subject we both are concerned with, the unborn.

    Lots of love, Ken
