Friend Memories and Rainbows

by Shelley Williams   Sep 14, 2015

It was a day unlike all others
when you became my friend.
I really didn't speak much
but you brought that to an end.

In the present a sweet person
and a sister just the same.
The past was the beginning
of the friend that you became.

I remember all the good times,
the visits and the walks.
When we had slumber parties
and indulged in cute guy talks.

A friendship that was once lost
is the greatest one to find.
Alone among the shadows
are the years we left behind.

We have our ups and downs
but we get through the pain.
The sun full of understanding
has helped clear up the rain.

A treasure can be found
within the rainbow's end.
Where memories of good times
are in the heart of a best friend.
