Stethoscopic Muteness

by Meme   Oct 1, 2015

I remember nights
of nostalgic silence,
and creeping insomnia,
and the anticipation of
seeing you...

...in my dreams

To have my heart awakened
by the few little words you
whisper every now and then,
I wish I could hear what it is
that you feel within.

I extend my arm to cut the
distance in between, but I
can't risk opening my eyes
and find your ghost, when
all I'm is searching for the
warmth of you being near.

I'll stand the test of time,
logic, and all circumstances
to be lulled by your voice
into wherever land, into you.

So don't leave me..
.
.
..to utter lifelessness.

Come find me in the night,
when it's dark and cold,
when I'm cradled by loneliness,
when faded memories knock on
the walls of my mind.

    Hello Meme,

I really should know better than to read sad poems before bed...

My pillow becomes damp and thats just not nice.

The memories of a loved one linger long after they
have departed. The smell, their belongings all trigger memories. But when we sleep we dream and its like
they are back. We see them, touch and even feel
    them...

This sadness of imagining this final loss is fretful.

    Well done...

A slight typo on the word: '...stands'

    Take care.
