Snow

by donna   Oct 12, 2015

It's 2am, I look around.
Snow is settling on the ground.
Elegantly floating without a sound.

Refreshing chill is in the air.
To the sky I stand and stare.
A calming moment, too precious to share.

Falling softly with gentle grace.
Snowflakes cold upon my face.
Descending at their lazy pace.

Roof tops and trees, laced in white.
Creating a soothing, warming light.
On this peaceful, wonderous night.

Remembering memories from winters past.
When the snow, for weeks, did last.
Before the time disappeared so fast.

Unspoiled snow continues to lay.
I wish this moment, forever could stay.
As I feel my troubles wash away.

Everything covered by a blanket of snow.
Glistening in the streetlamp glow.
Mesmerized for a while, now it's time to go.

I slowly walk home feeling mighty grand.
Breathing warm air on to each hand.
Listening to the crunching where my footsteps land.

Refreshing & de;ightful. Donna thanks for yet another lovely poem.

I could picture you walking down the lane which is covered with snow, taking a pause to look up at the sky and the silent snow flakes softly landing on nose and eyelashes..:)

    All the best.

A wonderful poem which really created some wonderful images in my mind. I love the rhyme scheme used here too - you don't see it enough.
Well done and all the best Donna,
