A Bell With No Ring:

by Scott Cole   Nov 29, 2015

A heart without love
Like a bell with no ring,
Empty and hollow
No pull of the strings.

It's one if by ear
Or two if by eye,
The love and the bell
Both have their own cry.

It is but a thought
The start of something,
It's music to my ears
That begins with a ring.

For eyes never will
And the heart can not,
See that inner beauty
That both the two got.

One beats to rhyme
The other to reason,
For either the two
It's all about pleasing.

A heart without love
Like a bell with no ring,
To get it all started
Just give it a fling.
