Seven Thousand Miles

by Jordan   Dec 18, 2015

I gazed across an empty ocean,
memories and promises abide
in the deepest pockets there.

Searching but never seeing.
Searching but never seeing.
Sometimes you can catch them.

I awoke in a sweat;

a cold bed cradled me,

Awaiting your return.

    A great write here, Jordan. Waiting for a lover's return and being haunted by their absence in the meantime.
    I like the repetition of "searching but never seeing" - it adds wait to the idea of constantly looking - constantly waiting.
    Well done and all the very best,
    Ben
