The Note.

by Poet on the Piano   Dec 22, 2015

I won't go into detail, that's not what
you're here for, is it? This girl - frozen
detached from a dynamic world she can't call home;
paralyzed yet those blue grey eyes
try to hide it all behind the clouds
so no one else is struck by unforgiving thunder.
She desperately wants to lift others up
but in the end, she's just a navy anchor
dragging the line of hope, her lifeline,
down.

In forty-eight words, she chooses.
And soon, she'll spill it onto a crisp
piece of paper she'll kiss,
running ink and tears and blood

'til she is gone.

And I can't be her...

(I just can't be)
