I can speak to you sweetly
I can woo you discretely
You can find me amusing, and charming, divine
But though I love you completely
And you admit that you need me
I know I'll never again make you mine

And though I'm holding you closely
It's to warm you up, mostly
But I get my hopes up and grin ev'ry time
Even though you'll dispose me
When you're through being cozy
I know I'll never again make you mine

And it's no good
For you to know that you've hurt me
And it's no good
To think on how you will desert me

Nothing can hurt so much as this, as loving wildly and losing it suddenly
