I Was Such A Fool

by Jeff Fleischer   Feb 2, 2016

I was such a fool.
Stubborn as a mule.
I drove you into the arms of another man.
Now I have no life, no plan.
I refused to believe that you needed more love than I was giving.
Now that you're gone, it is going to be hard for me to keep on living.

Is it possible to draw someone into another's people's heart?

    Is love then not forever?

Those are the questions that came to mind when I read your poem. This poem has a tone of sadness and with due reason. The feeling of regret is evident.

But hey... life goes on, right?

Hello Jeff and a warm welcome to the site.

A very sad piece from you here with a good flow to it. Sometimes we never know what we have until it is gone. A well worn phrase maybe, but still, very true. And when we know what it was that they needed, it is too late to do anything about it...
Well done and all the very best,
    Ben
