I once knew a girl

by karen tetley   Mar 5, 2016

I once knew a girl bright, strong and alive
That girl could face anything alone and survive
She concurred her demons and felt love and hope
That girl was a fighter with instinks to cope
She stood up for all that had battled and fell
That girl was an Allie who's story you'd tell
She hurt, cried and struggled threw pain and great loss
That girl just kept smiling not knowing the cost
She slowly diminished and forgot who to be
That girl was so lost she forgot she is me

I like the suspense that you kept till the end which kept me glued to the poem all through the while.
A superb piece with negligible flaws hidden by the strong content.
    Great work and keep penning

Some spelling errors which is a shame but good rhyming and story with portrayal of emotion.

I rate it a 5, but maybe you want to look through it once more for typos because it took me a second to understand what I was reading. Nice message though. :) Keep it up and if you wanna talk, my inbox is open.
