Stranger than Fiction

by Michael D Nalley   Mar 18, 2016

I moved way down south
not that long ago
You wrote me a note
to never let go

I can still hear whispers so sweet,
at the edge of the lovely lake
down where we sometimes seemed to meet
You're in my mind for heavens sake

Thou hast truly never left my heart,
Sole mates forever in rain or shine
Completely yours lest death do us part
In spirit I am yours, you are mine

Foolish love called infatuation
may often begin to really hurt
when (would be) lovers are far from salvation
let our togetherness be in concert

Now you say don't be a stranger,
as you see me and you as one.
Fate is a cruel arranger
maybe we've only just begun.
