Watch and see

by Dagmar Wilson   Apr 5, 2016

I'm tired of talking, pouring out my soul
forced to defend what's going on inside my brain,
it wasn't a choice I made.
My illness does not require rubber gloves.

I smoke to release stress
drink to ease the pain,
you feel disgust, I tell you what
you are not killing my will to live.

My tears are dry, gone with the wind
now I'm angry instead of depressed
fighting with every fiber in my body.
Your ignorance taught me to regain my strength.

I will conquer this battle
with the Lord by my side and
let you watch that I made it afterall.
