Desire

by Jason   Apr 19, 2016

The touch of your hand
Gently grasping unto mine.
The look of eternal sunlight
Coming across
Your midnight eyes.
The soft, sweet kiss
Brushed against my lips.
The scent of your fragrance
Sending shivers down
To my fingertips.
The laughter that breaks
The calm Autumn sky
Is enough to make
Even the most hardened man
Want to cry.
The pure elation
That comes across my face
Is a wonderful feeling
That I don't want replaced.
Three little words
That I speak to you
As I brush the hair out of your eyes
They have always been true.
"My love these words
I hope they shine through.
I've but three little words
I love you."
These thoughts of mine
Stir in me like a fire
These thoughts of mine
Are what I desire...

Hello Jason and welcome to the site.

It's funny, growing up I read a lot of the romantic poets like Wordsworth and I can't help feeling there just isn't enough romantic, rhyming love poetry around these days. Thank you for supplying some.
    Great piece and keep writing,
    Ben

Thank you Ben! This is one of the few poems that I've written that I tried to have a rhyming pattern to it, as I've become more adapted to free-style writing now. I will definitely take your comment to heart and work on pursuing more poems like this and follow a rhyming scheme.
