The Trees

by Domenico Sottile   Apr 27, 2016

One leaf...
two leaves...
three leaves...
a branch...
One branch...
two branches...
three branches...
a tree...
One tree...
two trees...
three trees...
a field...
One field...
two fields...
three fields...
a country...
One country
two countries
three countries...
the world

What calm
What beauty
What peace

Nations of women and men
let's imitate the trees

(Italian version)

Gli alberi

Una foglia...
due foglie...
tre foglie...
un ramo...
un ramo...
due rami...
tre rami...
un albero...
Un albero...
due alberi...
tre alberi...
un campo...
Un campo...
due campi...
tre campi...
un paese...
Un paese...
due paesi...
tre paesi...
il mondo...

Che calma
Che bellezza
Che pace

Nazioni di donne ed uomoini
imitiamo gli alberi

(Spanish versio)
Los árboles

Una hoja...
dos hojas...

Una rama...
dos ramas...
tres ramas...
un árbol...
Un árbol...
dos árboles...
tres árboles...
un campo...
Un campo...
dos campos...
tres campos...
un país...
Un país...

el mundo

¡Qué tranquilidad!
¡Qué belleza!
¡Qué paz!

Naciones des mujeres y hombres
imitemos los árboles

I liked your concept of one leaf leading to a branch, branches leading to a tree but I got stumped at several trees equalling a field. For me it didn't sit right in the flow because I was expecting that if everything was the sum of the many that many trees would have equalled a wood or forest followed by many forests with fields leading to a country etc. I liked the fact that you put in different interpretations but you need to go back in and correct the weird characters because it detracts from the poem. Good start though Milly x

      Thank you for the comments.
However, have never seen fields filled with trees?
