The Wrong Goddess

by Skyler   May 5, 2016

O Fearsome Vessel of Athena, please forgive my mortal eye
For I thought you Aphrodite, until I saw your arrows fly
Tis true I sought a Goddess, some divine and radiant light
That steals my sleeping vision, dwelling high on Silver Nights

So let them seek their Cypris, while I walk beside the Moon
Your beauty is a Power, not some vain and empty boon
So please excuse my folly, when, to Venus, I gave praise
Let me hunt beside Athena til my final, dying days

I love the sentiment in this one, but was a little confused as to the girls, hehe. It went from Greek Aphrodite to Roman Venus but you love Athena... sorry didn't quite get it.

What a beautiful, tranquil piece. The flow and rhythm fitted like a glove and read smoothly.
