A Change Of Heart:

by Scott Cole   May 7, 2016

Two little bad words
Were hanging out,
Up to no good
Plumb full of doubt.

The first little word
Said to the other,
It's time for a change
My little brother.

Life is hard enough
For good little words,
Those chosen few
That's fun to be heard.

And were bad words
Life's twice as tough,
We're born to be rude
Or sware by the cuss.

I'm changing my ways
Said the first bad word,
Turning my life around
What most ears prefer.

The second little word
Turned to the first,
Gave his opinion
In a gentle outburst.

You know one thing
You're exactely right,
I'm tired of living
My life so uptight

I need some comfort
From this shame I carry,
I wanna express myself
Like a bright yellow canary.

From this day forward
Said the first bad word,
I will be appreciated
Whenever I'm heard.

Ears want cover up
When my name is called,
Fingers won't point
Nor will I be scald.

For I use to be gross
A dispickable act,
But now my future
Is right back on track.

No more say it don't spray it
From those spoken lips,
Now on the streets
I'm thanked for my tips.

Scott, very clever poem loved the word play between spit and tips and the rhythm throughout. Also liked the view point taken from the word itself rolling out its story. Keep well Millyx

Scott, I really liked this one and how you are doing it from the words point if view.

We all say things we live to regret but the matter of fact is that those of us with a conscience will use good words to apologise.

    Good write, Em

Did u catch on to the fact that the first bad word's name was spit he turned his life around for the better good so he spells out tips. Went from a bad thing nobody liked to tips that is always appreciated. From bad to good a complete turn around. Thanks for the comment....
