Clean Up With Confidence

by Shelley Williams   Jun 28, 2016

I do not want to clean my house
I do not want to for a spouse.
I will not clean here or there,
I will not clean up anywhere.

I will not clean up with a rag,
I will not use a garbage bag.
I will not clean up over there
I will not get up off this chair.

I will not clean up with a smile
I will not fold my laundry pile.

Wait a minute! Where's the cat?
Where could my little dog be at?

The floor is covered, can't be seen
I think it was once a nice green.

I cannot find my favorite shoes
My socks and clothes I seem to lose.
The garbage makes me trip and fall
Twist my ankle, have to crawl.

With good reason, a brighter day
I will fold the laundry, put it away.

I will sweep the kitchen with a smile
I will pick up the huge garbage pile.
I will vacuum carpets that were green
I will work on beds that they be clean.

I will also mop the tile and grout
I will not complain nor will I pout.
My dog and cat will come to me
From the deepest mess they will be free.

I will live clean! It will be great!
I just finished washing every plate.
My house a happy place to be,
Depression will not conquer me.

Night has covered up the day
I sleep and dream, life is okay.
