Midsts

We seem like capital cities apart...

Everyone seems to be moving on
whilst I'm still stuck
on those long ago days,
standing stranded underneath
dull firmaments,
waiting for the sky and the sea to meet.

we met between lonely houses,
mid-summer skies and dreams,
and traffic jams
under nineteen streetlights,
amidst narrow highways,
plotting points on Cartesian planes...

Geometry isn't enough anymore.
But I'm still caught up between
congruent triangles and Rene Descartes.

Such a lovely write-so much yearning for a lost love. Your imagery transport you right into your story-well done-

There is a lot more then what is penned in this poem. There is a longing, a sadness a long ago togetherness time which seems to be not there anymore...only memories which the writer yearns for.

I like the descriptions and the imagery here...touching write, hope you are okay...take care.

This wistful piece reminds me of a film I watched called 'Before Sunrise' about a couple of star-crossed lovers who meet on their travels and their lives are entwined from there on. There are two more wonderful films that follow too, but I'm getting off-point now!

If I have a suggestion, it may be to change '3' to 'three' but that's personal taste and is up to you entirely.

    Great write,

    Ben
