You Sure That We Are Married?

by CJ Johnson   Sep 15, 2016

Excuse me for a second can you tell me something
I can't remember how I gave you that wedding ring
Last thing I recall, we hooked up after school
Now we have three kids and a house with a swimming pool
It's really not my style to do something of the sort
If things were going this fast I would have surely just abort
I just don't think it's me you see in all these bedroom frames
Walking down the decorated aisle or with kids at football games
You say that we are soulmates and that you always love me so
But how can that truly be when I don't even know
How we got together as the story is always varied
You seem so certain, but are you sure that we are married?

A fun piece of poetry. Sometimes I guess we are together so long that we forgot some of the details lol

    All the best, Em

    Hello,

Another fun piece. Not quite at the same level as 'Fantasy Football', but still with that jolly, charming tone - which I think is one of your greatest strengths from the two pieces I've read thus far.

I look forward to seeing more.

    Regards,

    Bradley

Thanks for the comment! I wrote this one night after a couple asked my wife and I how the proposal happened in our marriage. We both kinda stumbled on the response and I thought "I wonder if we are actually married?"
