30 Years

by Scrittore   Oct 9, 2016

Who knows her anguish
Who knows her grief?
Who knows the turmoil inside her mind?
Who knows the sleepless nights which haunts her -
Haunts her - taunts her for the sanity she will never find?

30 years came and went
A reflection - the tale it will tell
Of a women whose life was spent
Living in an isolated hell

What she keeps hidden is never seen.
A smile on the outside viewed.
In her prison she's her own queen.
From reality she is far removed.

The locks have long since rusted
A ghastly reflection viewed
But from out of the fog is seen
A women she once knew

Shattered mirror I look no more, said she
A chance now I will take
Breaking free from this bondage
Let this not be my last mistake

Who knows her anguish?
Who knows her grief?
Who knows this turmoil Inside her mind?
Those sleepless nights still haunts her
But her freedom she did find.

A wonderful piece here, that is fluent, dark and absorbing.
I suppose we never really know the horrors that people fight against in their own minds...

Take care and all the best,

    Ben
