Rehabilitation

I looked at a photograph we taken together. I understood everything when I looked into her eyes...not only questioning and doubt were in her eyes, there also flickered hope and acquiescence. I sat on the bed on one side of the room, that photograph sat across from me. Between us was a strip of black-and-white checkers. This strip was like the challenging line on a life size chess board. If you considered the other side to be invincible, then it was... If you didn't then it's power would dissolve into nothingness, obliterated by something as small as a flick of a finger... Time trickled on in the silence...
When you look at a photo, do you see yourself last?
Humility... I understand.
