Consent

by Brookie   Nov 11, 2016

Is it to much to ask for a question
instead of an action?
To watch for acceptence
not ignorance?

Ive already had my rights stolen
once from you and once from another...

Yet i remain hopeful
hopeful in the eyes of you
not me.

But hope is useless on this land,
what has been used is used...
and we can't recycle people,
we're not paper.

You know my soul has died before,
you've seen my shakes,
seen my tears,
my fears.
You have seen the weak and broken girl i am.

Maybe that's why you destroyed my planet.

Now im questioning my self worth,
did i deserve this?
are you right?
should i stay?

I know these answers, No, No, and No...

When you heard me repeat myself
what made you think you had my consent?

Brookie, this is a raw piece.

Loved - and we can't recycle people,
we're not paper. So true, if only we could right?

    Brookie,

An incredibly raw and honest write that moved me immensely. As sad as the subject matter is, I thought the way you presented this was excellent; the last three lines are superb.

    All the very best,

    Ben
