Father figure.

by Em   Nov 15, 2016

He was 65
looking for his final love,
She was 27
everything he could think of.

Their love some would say
was perversely wrong
but they made
each other strong.

He was honest and caring,
she was damaged and hurt
but no f cking reason
for dragging him through dirt.

He cared more than she thought
no one had ever treated her as good
but she was a mess,
trying the best she could.

He was everything she needed
supporting her even in her selfish times
and all she could do
was commit the worst crime.

That crime being lying
to protect the one she yearned for
now everything in her life
was worse than before.

    I'm confused. XD

He loved her, and she saw him as a father? Took advantage of him by lying that she loved him and now everything is worse for her?

    Or

He loved her, and she loves him. But she is saying that he is her father in order to protect him because the age gap is way too much?

Interesting story. Sorry if my interpretation makes no sense.

Luce, basically he is a lot older thus being the 'father figure' and they are completely in love but she has been hurt before badly so had no trust etc and he was really supportive trying to get her trust but because she thought he would turn out like every other man she hurt him first knowing that he would leave.. True story lol

    Hi Em.

I don't know why, but the curse took me by surprise. Lol

    A nicely told poem.

Age is just a number, love us just a word.
When one disses the other, that makes them a turd!

Em, such a sad write-reminds me of an old Eagles song- Lyin' Eyes. Same premise. You did a beautiful write with this, the pain shows through- hugs-
