Worldwide friends

by The Collaborators   Nov 21, 2016

We may not see them often
but always they'll be there;
lurking, caring, loving,
making life easier to bare.

Not far from yesterday, I guess
our headlines outgrew our recess
reality, gaining access;
Prince charming, en route for princess.

Two thousand miles between us
but our words traverse each one.
What a miracle, how seeds grow
shooting from the earth, our very own.

Twisting and turning
inside of my mind;
I thank them for helping
even when they're drunk; blind.

Many years have come to pass,
still I hold onto these relations
and while these are but words on a screen,
they brim with salutation.

So, here's to the start
of some great friendships;
we somehow all fit together
like burger and chips.

    A lovely poem that deals with the nature of friendships that spring all over the virtual world. Technology really should be commended more often by me. (I still refuse to acknowledge the Kindle as anything other than blasphemy, though!)
